zreceive
Use the zreceive command to get (download) copies of files from
the remote system onto your system using ZMODEM protocol.
(Use ztransmit to upload files using
ZMODEM protocol.)
To use zreceive, you will usually need to follow these steps:
-
Start the remote system's ZMODEM file transfer program while in talk mode.
(Your manual for using the remote system, or the remote system operator,
will be able to help you with this and with the next two steps.)
-
Make sure the remote ZMODEM settings are appropriate.
-
Use the appropriate command(s) to tell the remote system to send a file
or group of files using ZMODEM protocol.
-
Press the change key to return to Autolog's command prompt.
-
Enter the command:
zreceive
You can rename the files as they are received by using an equal sign:
zreceive *.new =
If the zauto option is turned on, you
can skip steps 4 and 5. zauto turns on ZMODEM auto-download, so
the file transfer will start automatically when the remote side begins
to transfer the file(s).
zreceive can use any of these file transfer
switches to control which files are transferred:
different existing
hash longernewer
newer nodelete
query
These switches control how the received file is handled locally:
append nostamp
recovery text
These switches control how the file transfer takes place:
crc16 encode
window
The zreceive command also supports these options:
alarm noerase
rename timeout zauto
