About Autolog
Autolog is a point-to-point data communications program that allows you
to talk to other computers or other serial communications devices (such
as bar code scanners, printers, OCR readers, etc.). You can run programs
on the remote computer or up- and download files. Most often you may use
Autolog to place a call to another computer using a modem. However, you
can also use Autolog to communicate with other devices that are connected
directly to your computer's serial ports.
Autolog provides simple modem commands such as dial
and hangup to make using the modem easy.
Autolog allows you to transfer files using any
of a variety of different file transfer protocols.
Autolog also provides a number of useful features, such as keyboard
translation, terminal emulation, and flexible
settings, that allow you to adapt Autolog to specific
communications needs or unusual environments.
