duplex

The duplex command determines who will echo the characters you type when connected to the remote system in talk mode. Full duplex systems will echo your characters for you, so you can see what you've just typed. Half duplex systems will not echo your characters, so you must adjust the duplex setting so that Autolog will echo your characters for you.

duplex half

will tell Autolog to use half duplex, that is, to echo your characters for you because the remote system doesn't.

If everything you type while in talk mode appears TTWWIICCEE, change the duplex back to full with the command:

duplex full

Some dial-up services will represent their required settings in a format similar to this: 81NF or 71EH. The last letter indicates the duplex setting: Full or Half. The first three characters represent the serial data construction, set with the data, parity, and stop commands.
