ytransmit

Use the ytransmit command to send (upload) a file or batch of files from your system to a remote system using YMODEM batch protocol. (To download files using YMODEM protocol, use the yreceive command.)

To use ytransmit, you will usually need to follow these steps:

  1. Start the remote system's YMODEM file transfer program. (Your documentation for using the remote system or the remote system operator will be able to help you with this and with the next two steps.)
  2. Make sure the remote YMODEM settings are appropriate.
  3. Use the appropriate command(s) to tell the remote system to receive a file or group of files using YMODEM batch protocol.
  4. Press the change key to return to Autolog's command prompt.
  5. Enter the command:
ytransmit file name(s)

You can send one file or a batch of files using wildcard symbols. You can rename the files as they are sent by using an equal sign.

ytransmit ??file.txt
ytransmit *.new = *.old

You can use any of a number of file transfer switches to control how ytransmit behaves or to additionally restrict which files in your batch are transferred:

Date and time switches
contiguous sequential query

The ytransmit command also supports these options:

alarm timeout x1k
