nocompress

The nocompress option turns off data compression with the SMT file transfer commands transmit and receive. To turn data compression on or off, enter the command:
 
nocompress true or false

Compression is normally on by default, that is, nocompress is normally false.

Normally transmit and receive compress the data in the file for faster transfer and re-expand it at the other end. You may wish to disable this compression if your modem offers more efficient data compression.
