Date and Time File Transfer Switches

The date and time switches are:

cdate udate bdate
before after

These switches can be used to select a batch or group of files to transfer based on their creation date or time (cdate), their update date or time (udate), or their backup date or time (bdate ).

Note Not all operating systems record all three dates or use the same time standard. Refer to the Autolog Installation and Platform Guide for information about how date and time comparisons are made.

Dates and times are preceded by a colon (:) in this format:

cdate:mm-dd-yy@hh:mmam

You may specify just the date, just the time (which must be preceded by the @ character), or both a date and a time:

cdate:12-31-98@11:00am
bdate:12-31-98
udate:@11:00pm

The before and after switches are used to extend the specified date or time. Without the before and after switches, only files whose appropriate dates and/or times exactly match your specification will be transferred.

Examples:

receive/bdate:12-31-98@11:00am/before *.txt
(receive all .txt files backed up on or before December 31, 1998, 11:00am)

ztransmit/cdate:02-07-00/after *.txt
(send all .txt files created on or after February 7, 2000)

With the bdate switch, you can specify + instead of a date or time to indicate all files that have never been backed up and therefore have a blank backup date and time field:

bdate:+

The date and time switches are supported by these file transfer commands:

kermit send
transmit receive
ytransmit ygtransmit
ztransmit
